ROXAS CITY – Progress through solidarity and cooperation sums up the messages given by Capiz Gov. Victor A. Tanco and Mayor Vicente Bermejo of Roxas City during the opening ceremony of the Sinadya sa Halaran Festival, Dec. 3.
The celebration started with the traditional civic parade along the main streets of Roxas City participated by different LGU’s and NGO’s of this province. A thanksgiving mass at the historical Immaculate Conception Metropolitan Cathedral follows the spectacle.
During the fiesta opening, Gov. Tanco urged the Capiceño to join hands for the progress and development of our city and province. Mayor Bermejo also said that he is looking forward to more development among the people, the province, and the city.
“I am confident that this year’s Sinadya sa Halaran will, as it has been in the past years, be more colorful, memorable and enjoyable.” added Tanco.
“Let us celebrate the sincere commitment for the advancement of Roxas City and Capiz.” Mayor Bermejo quipped.
The festival is scheduled from December 3 to 8. It will showcase different activities including the Western Visayas Tourism Assembly which will be held on December 4 to 6.
This year’s festival theme, “Kultura sang pag-ambitanay pasangkaron, bilang kabahin sang kabuhing Capisnon,” calls for the integration into the Capizeño culture the value of sharing. (SSH Publicity and Promotion/ A.Alarcon)
